What is a
ClearStep centre? |

ClearStep centres are specially recognized orthodontic practices
where the lead Orthodontist has a special interest and extensive
experience in the use of ClearStep. The centres have a fully recognized and registered orthodontic specialist as
their senior clinician. They are specially chosen on the basis
of experience, expertise and enthusiasm. All the centres work in
close collaboration with the ClearStep company. |

Our Younger
Patients |
|
We start younger and aim to encourage the forward growth of the
face. This in our opinion leads to fuller more attractive faces
in adulthood. We try wherever possible to avoid the need for
extractions or surgery. It is very important in the treatment of
children, if we are to achieve the 'all American smile' that
we start with what we call arch development. This needs to
start in the late mixed dentition. This is the time when most
of the baby teeth are being lost and the permanent teeth are
arriving. This is classically at the age of 7 to 10 years. |

We
would therefore like for all children to be referred to an
orthodontic centre at the age of 7 years. If the child is
referred at the age of 11 years, then the chance and opportunity
for early expansion treatment and development of the arch has
been lost. |
